Music
For my birthday, I purchased I (Ai) by Off Course, and Ballad 3 (The Album of Love) by Southern All-Stars. Quite possibly 2 best decisions of my life.

Master the Mainframe
Is so much harder than it was last year....
To put it simply, I'm still awake at 4:30 in the morning trying to finish part two.
WHY???????????

Cigarettes
Which I am now old enough to buy, but never will.
I'm also old enough to vote.
I'm also old enough to go to jail.
And I have to register for selective service.

Deregulation
I had an amazing argument today that lasted 2-3 hours about whether or not deregulation is a good thing. I think that legislation is a bad thing, though a minimal amount is necessary; essentially, there should only be enough legislation to preserve capitalism. If you disagree, I would be perfectly willing to argue, just let me know. I also may have no idea what I'm talking about.

Hm...
I get the feeling, sometimes, that certain people don't like me.
I don't know what that really has to do with anything at 3 in the morning, but so what?
First Test and Today
I took my first test yesterday. The professor gave us the problems before the test... And it was still one of the hardest tests I've ever taken. Outline the development of visual arts in Greece from 1000 B.C. to 323 B.C. Compare and contrast the philosophies of Plato and Aristotle. Explain Classical Greek drama, using Oedipus Tyrannus (Rex, the King). All of these between 500 and 750 words each. Right.
So... I'll see how that goes, and may tell the readers of this blog (all one of them), if I remember.
Today I'm going to be going to class, eating lunch with cousins from out of state, visiting with a friend from BYU-I from my home ward, going to the largest CTF game ever (setting a world record for the GBWR), and hiking Timpanogos at one in the morning tomorrow so that I can look at the sunrise. Fun... Then that day I also have a math team group study session thing, then World of Dance, then a football game (BYU is 2-0, go Cougars).
Life is busy...
Still working on TeX.

Firefly
I must, like all other Browncoats, pay my respects to Joss Whedon's short-lived television show, Firefly. The character development, action, hilarity, and unique perspective on life in the future is extremely original and well-worth the time it takes to watch all 14 episodes. There are some parts that are mildly inappropriate, but again, it was a television show, and it's not at all worse than some of the stuff that plays prime-time.
But why did Fox have to cancel it?
What To Write?
Every once in a while, I have a good idea about what to write here, but then I forget it...
I think, therefore, that I shall post some questions from my Mathematics 391R class... when I have time to figure out how to use TeX.

Massacre
Tulane... I express my regret for your fallen warriors and serfs. It is a hard life, no?
BYU game 2: 54 - 3.

Quotes
Sean Connery was quoted as saying, "How's your shoulder now, Bradford?"
What I don't get is how he got his bloody nose...

Reminiscing...
With September 11th coming up, I was pondering on the resilience of man and the changes that happen so quickly in the different areas of life, like technology, medicine, and other such areas.
Just kidding. Who does that?
Homework...
I decided to, for once in my life, be ahead in all of my classes... However, that gives me loads of homework at the moment.
You know, reading two chapters of Civ stuff, a chapter of Economics, a chapter of Computer Systems, 7 chapters and the introduction of the Book of Mormon, three homework sets of math... All in one night. Ok, only one homework set of math, but then three sheets of Putnam Exam practice problems...
However, on the positive side, if I spend hours working on Putnam problems and get them right, I might get paid. In cash.
College life is weird...

Idea For Talking To Cute Girls/Guys
I had an idea on an easy way to talk to cute guys or girls.
1. Know your way around campus, more or less perfectly.
2. Find a cute girl/guy.
3. Ask this cute person to show you the way to your class.
4. If this person doesn't know, ask where this person's class is, and show them. Remember to make it seem like a guess.
And, if you're lucky, you'll get a good conversation for a few minutes, and perhaps a number.
Early
It's totally 3 AM here, and all the previous posts were written and posted within the past 10 minutes. As such, I am extremely tired. I plan to hike the Y tomorrow at 10 AM, so... I will be getting off soon.
I just found $5... But I feel that posts like these are as true to the purpose of this blog, which is to outline the experience of college. Anyway, I currently have 0 people who read this blog.
Packing
Unpacking took me 2 hours, and I'm still not nearly as organized as I should be.
Short post, I know.
Languages
I love learning languages, and I'm kind of a linguistics person. I'm currently learning Spanish, Korean, and Japanese. I have a pretty good command of Spanish, especially reading and writing it, but not very much skill with the other two. Also, because I am a mathematics major and I plan on doing doctoral work, it is recommended that I learn fluently French, German, or Russian. I want to take some classes here at BYU, but I decided to wait until after my mission, so I don't waste a class...
Economics
I'm taking an Economics class, and several of my friends are taking the same class, including my roommate. It turns out that one of the required books for it is The Armchair Economist, which I borrowed from my Econ teacher in high school, and read all the way through. As such, I didn't buy it and will use my roommate's copy if necessary.
Mathematics
It is my life, but unfortunately there aren't that many pure mathematics jobs that pay well. As such, I have decided to try to double major in mathematics and computer science... but it makes my workload extremely large and overwhelming... I'll keep you guys updated on how it goes.
I Found Ten Dollars
So... Our hall decided that finding money at the end of any story adds enjoyment to the listening experience. The worse the story, the more money that you need to find to make up for it. And then I found ten dollars.
First
This will be my blog for all those who wish to follow my college experience... Specifically all the teachers that requested information from me...
So this is just a test post.
Yeah.
You can stop reading now.
No, seriously.
Are you still reading this?
